Marriage and Family Therapist - Intern

We are all carrying around full backpacks.

My goal as a therapist is to lighten your load early on, to make way for deeper unburdening. As a systemic therapist, I believe our relationships and environments have a deep impact on us and are part of the therapy journey. I love working with children, families, and couples, especially those navigating transitions like new babies, diagnoses, and finding their rhythm as a team. I'm trained in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST), which means I draw from several therapeutic styles to right-size a plan for each client. I especially love combining the immediate small wins of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy with investigating the stories we hold dear through Narrative Therapy, all with a healthy dose of humor, playfulness, and curiosity. I am neuro-affirming and enthusiastically welcome all brain styles.

About Me

I came to counseling later in life, after a career in journalism and several years as a stay-at-home parent to my two awesome kids. I love traveling and exploring, whether that includes a long flight or a short train ride to a new part of Chicagoland. I'm a major bookworm and hobby hopper, lately that includes cold water swimming and messy-but-fun watercolor painting. My ideal evening involves soft pants, warm pizza, and cozy cuddles with my cat, dog, spouse, and kids.
