Evergreen Counseling was co-founded in 2018 by friends and colleagues, Natasha Knoff and Priscilla Dean.

Our Mission

We exist to serve the mental, emotional, and relational health needs of individuals, couples, and families in the city of Wheaton, and surrounding area. Through compassionate and skilled counseling services, we guide clients through chronic issues, sudden losses, relationship conflicts, transitional stress, and other burdens of living.

Our vision

We believe in human resiliency.

When given the proper support and care - people can thrive despite difficult experiences. Our counselors are confident in their clients’ ability to heal, grow, and achieve lasting happiness in the wake of adversity.

We believe in the power of relationships in healing pain.

Deeply painful experiences can leave people feeling alone and isolated. Healthy relationships can ease the suffering of difficult times. Our counselors fully support the involvement of loved ones in the process of therapy whenever needed.

We believe that “it’s OK to not be OK”.

Therapy does have an end goal in mind - positive change. But it’s often very important to allow bad feelings, admit vulnerabilities, tell sad stories, and say “I’m not OK” while working toward positive outcomes. The path toward growth is not always a straight line, and it’s completely acceptable to admit when you’re tired and overwhelmed.

We believe that people can resolve longstanding conflicts, and reconcile differences.

Unfortunately, human connection is sometimes the source of pain. When expertly guided by a caring therapist, people can recover trust, express forgiveness, and renew important relationships. Life is long, and healthy relationships are worth the hard work.

We believe our actions can speak louder than words.

In addition to being trained, and educated - our therapists have “walked the walk”. We believe that therapy works because we have all chosen to do the hard work of self-reflection for ourselves. And as a result, our clients benefit by working with a person who knows from experience all of the challenges and joys of the process of therapy. A healthy and humble therapist is someone you can trust to honor your story, remain objective, and provide wisdom at the right times.

Why do you stay in prison, when the door is so wide open?
