I believe therapy is a space where we explore both the pain and the joy of human existence in a deep and meaningful way.
I was 15 when I started going to therapy. This experience was a formative experience for me, and continues to be a part of my life. I know how vulnerable it can be to sit on that couch and really look at yourself in front of someone. It takes courage and intentionality, and is one of the most beautiful dynamics I have found myself in – both as therapist and client.
As a proud Armenian-American, I openly discuss my Armenian background as a culture that has been shaped by tremendous suffering, but also strength and resilience. This background shapes my values to stand up for oppressed persons or groups while embodying what it means to love all people in truth.
This goal is a direct reflection of my beliefs; I strive to live by the depth of its meaning in my everyday life. It also influences my therapeutic approach, which I would describe as casual, open, and innately human.
You deserve to experience freedom, love, and genuine connection with yourself and others.
I want you to be able to connect and build relationships with those around you. I want to help you be in community with people in a way where you can know how to communicate and move through difficult emotions with internal balance want to navigate your feelings differently, but you may feel like you’re trapped inside yourself – as if what is coming out of you doesn’t match the heart. This can look like self criticism, explosive anger, over functioning through caring for others, or avoidance All of these things are serving as protective strategies to keep you safe. Together, we can get curious and explore where that was needed in your life and form a new relationship with your internal world.
Utilizing our bond built over time, the influence of IFS (internal family systems), and addressing behavioral patterns, we will see how our therapeutic connection mimics your lived experiences outside of session I want to offer space for the parts of you that need healing and offer them much needed space to express themselves, so you can feel fully, wholly you.
The work I’m proposing isn’t easy, but I believe in this process and believe in you as another human being trying to better themselves. I’d be honored to laugh with you in your genuine joy, sit with you in the depths of your sadness, and find ways to balance together.
ABOUT ME
In and out of the therapy room I am a quick witted, humorous, deep, and passionate person who loves a conversation that holds all those qualities. When I’m not chatting with friends, you can find me playing D&D and board games where I get to engage in creativity and my appreciation
for the fantastical gets to make an appearance. When I have the time, I also like to play video games and watch shows like New Girl and Over the Garden Wall. Exploring new worlds and creating and analyzing characters are things that intrigue me and give me an outlet for play.
Other ways I help care for and express myself are through prayer, writing poetry, painting, and just about anything that gives me a good laugh.
